The seventh Summer Internet Governance School will be held online from July 13 to August 17. The project, organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ in partnership with MGIMO University and the School of International Information Security, and forms part of the global Schools on Internet Governance (SIG) initiative.
The primary objective of the Summer School is to immerse participants in the current landscape of internet governance and digital cooperation at both global and regional levels, and to equip them with the skills required for meaningful participation in the activities of international organizations, thematic conferences, and expert-level discussions.
Undergraduate and postgraduate students, junior faculty members and researchers, as well as professionals in international relations, law, political science, journalism, telecommunications, IT, and related fields within the digital sphere, are invited to apply for the Summer School.
Tuition at the School is free of charge. Applications will be accepted through July 10.
The School’s program consists of two stages: a preparatory and selection stage, followed by a main stage.
- From July 13 to July 27, the preparatory and selection stage will be conducted as a self-paced online program, with participants completing an introductory course in internet governance that comprises nine thematic modules. All materials will be accessible via an electronic learning platform, allowing participants to progress at their own pace while gradually deepening their understanding of key issues in internet governance, technical network architecture, international organizations, and the current digital agenda.
Upon successful completion of this preparatory and selection stage, participants will receive a certificate from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, and the 50 most active and engaged participants will advance to the main stage.
- From August 3 to August 17, the main stage of the School will be held with the support of MGIMO University. This stage is designed for in-depth engagement with participants who have successfully completed the preparatory and selection stage. During the main stage, participants will attend thematic lectures and discussions led by internet governance experts and practitioners. Collaborative group work on one of the key topics on the digital agenda is also planned. As a final assignment, participants will prepare an analytical essay, with the best ones to be published on the Summer School website.
Upon successful completion of the main stage, participants will be awarded professional development certificates from MGIMO University.
