2nd Summer School on Internet Governance opens

Applications closed on July 16 for the 2nd Summer School on Internet Governance. Internet governance continues to be a topic of great interest primarily among graduate and postgraduate students; however, teachers and professionals wishing to develop new skills also get involved. The school received 127 applications from several Russian cities as well as Afghanistan, Armenia, Belarus, Colombia, Ecuador, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

The extensive geographic reach of this year’s school is mainly due to the remote format of studies which makes it possible to take part from anywhere in the world.

The applicants come from different backgrounds in terms of their area of studies and expertise, including international relations, law, business and management, journalism and media, IT and systems, telecommunications, programming, cybersecurity, economics and public administration, cultural studies, linguistics and PR.

Eighty-one participants were selected for the introductory course.

Classes start on July 19. For two weeks, students will be learning the basics of internet governance as a multi-disciplinary subject. We wish them good luck!

The Summer School on Internet Governance is organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ in cooperation with the Department of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University. The school is part of the Schools on Internet Governance global movement.
