On April 6, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ held an online working meeting, the Day of Lawyer for Registrars 2021, for employees of legal departments, client service experts, and top managers of the registrar companies in the .RU and .РФ domains. The discussion focused on the issues faced by registrars in their everyday work.
The invited experts and employees of the Coordination Center explained how to counter customer extremism, tackle problems in compiling documents and cooperate with contractors. They also discussed whether a registrar is an information broker. They reviewed issues linked with the violation of intellectual rights and quoted conclusions from already established legal practice. Experts analyzed the problems faced by registrars in implementing interim measures and told those present about cooperation with domain registrants and interpretation of the Coordination Center’s regulations. As a separate subject, the use of biometric information for authorization and authentication of users was brought up.
The Coordination Center plans to continue holding such events with the employees and executives of registrar companies to help them be able to promptly find the answers to urgent questions and also use the received information in carrying out their activities.
